The Commission wishes to reiterate its position that teachers and school authorities must not demand or accept any form of advantage from pupils, parents, guardians and counterpart school authorities.

The ACC reminds the public that offering and receiving an advantage or bribe, whether solicited or not, is a crime under the Anti-Corruption Act 2008; and any violation of this provision will be accordingly prosecuted. In this regard, the ACC urges parents, pupils, guardians and school authorities to resist such solicitations and offers of bribe. The public is encouraged to report to the Commission any such incidences by calling on the following toll-free numbers: 515 on all networks, Africell-077-985-985, and 077-986-986.

The Commission wishes to reassure the general public of its undeterred resolve to pursue bribery at all levels in Sierra Leone.
