A Call To Business (ACTB) Savings and Loans, at a colorful crowned Madam SimbiatuConteh as the Grand Winner of all the 23 Awardees and tagged “THE ACTB BOMBA CLIENT OF THE YEAR.
Madam SimbiatuConteh emerged as the winner, thus taking home Ten Million Leones, a brand Ambassadorship deal plus other packages and she will be the face of Actb for one year.
The colorful ceremony took place ceremony over the weekend at Radisson Blu, were 23 clients in the first edition of ACTB Bomba Clients Awards 2021 were awarded.
ACTB is a micro finance organization that manages a portfolio of local companies. The 23 clients were drawn from 8 districts, 6 categories and 4 regions.
In her welcome remarks, ACTB Savings and Loan Credit Coordinator Mrs. Isatu Bangura said ACTB are made for love, friendlessness, togetherness and to tell the public that there should be no exclusion when it comes to financial services.
“We need you as much as you need us which is why we have such gathering today”.
ACTB Founder, Paul Szkiler, explained in a video broadcast from London how he visited Sierra Leone in 2005 after Sierra Leone’s conflict and how he met two gentlemen at Bamoi Hotel and gave them capital, the one he said ate his own money while the other one invested it and changed lives.
He said it is a must for one to be honest and transparent if they will support them.
“2009 is when we took in our first equity and since then we have grown year after year. In the next 5 to 10 years ACTB can be the biggest and most efficient micro bank in the country and capital expertise for SME business people.”
He welcomed and congratulated recipients of the awards and said the level of transparency and accountability with hard work made it possible for them.
ACTB Savings and Loans Chief Executive Officer David Kamara described that day as a watershed moment not just for them but for micro finance in Sierra Leone.
He said they will continue to evaporate into the future of the micro finance arena. “..Tonight we will be looking at phenomenal experience from our value clients and customers as a result of the loan transaction that we have been into.”
He pointed out that ACTB believes that micro finance plays an important role when used correctly and it does help to usher prosperity and top on the lives and lively hood of people.
“Today we are extremely happy not to only celebrate our clients and recognize them but also with what they have achieved. You are all winners and on behalf of ACTB I want to congratulate you all”.
