The Universal Peace Federation (UPF), is a global network of individuals and organisations across the world dedicated to building a world of peace, embracing governments and peoples with a common objective of enhancing freedom, harmony, cooperation and prosperity.

The Universal Peace Federation, with regional offices in Korea, Japan, Thailand, China, Russia, Nigeria, the Ivory Coast, and the United Kingdom, enjoys Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations as an international NGO.

The UPF Delegation, led by their Ambassador for Peace in Korea Ferdinand Renz, and also comprising Fumiko Kadomatsu from Japan and Elizabeth De Jong from Nigeria briefed Ambassador Golley on their various activities in Korea, centred on interfaith peace building and peace education, working with the United Nations, and sponsoring conferences and activities around the world promoting these themes.

He also briefed the Ambassador on educational support programmes, referring particularly to the activities of Sun Moon University in Korea founded in 1970, by the original Founder and leading light of the Federation, Rev Sun Moon.

Renz highlighted the relationship that the Federation had enjoyed with the former President of Sierra Leone, the late President Ahmad Tejan Kabbah, and the work of the federation sponsoring various workshops and other activities in the country.

His Excellency Ambassador Omrie Golley welcomed the officials of the UPF to the Sierra Leone Mission and briefed them on the ongoing efforts of the Government of Sierra Leone in its post Ebola recovery program, inviting them to reengage with the country and support the national development efforts of the Government and people of Sierra Leone.

The Second Secretary at the Embassy of Sierra Leone in Seoul, Steven Levey also attended the meeting.
