“Action betteh pass intention” a popular slogan “World Best” used during the 2012 Elections became more ostensive with the tolling system being introduced months to general elections.

The argument of the Youth Ministry that Sierra Leone cannot always rely on the European Union for it infrastructural development is convincing but does not contradict opposing opinions that accenting this system for the first time in the country without an alternative route will impact negatively on living standards of the citizenry.

What is more “unpolitical” of the ruling party is their anti-opposition drive. Popular musician Emerson Bockarie said, “den nor wan yeri natin, all man mot for batten”. It is true that the APC led government has made much strides on road construction in cities like Makeni, Koidu, Freetown and other place in the country, but the Supreme Executive is yet to fulfill his pledge to die for the youth. This was understood to mean that his government will prioritize the implementation of Youth empowerment policies and programs; but what is evident today, is the Police shooting youth protesting in defense of their rights to basic social amenities such as education.

In the absence of real jobs in the country, ladies are trafficked to the Middle East where they are used as slaves.

The victims are accusing the Sierra Leonean Embassy in that part of the Globe for not doing much to rescue them; as compared to the efforts Embassies of other African countries make for their citizens. The Foreign Affairs Ministry seems to be taciturn to those accusations.

This is how public officials in this country today neglect their duties and when a citizen picks that up? Just as another popular musician Star Zero said “wae we tok, den Pa Demba we”.

Interestingly in their desperation to narrow the space for anti-government views, they hypnotized public sympathy for those oppositions. Theresa Mbayor benefited from this. She became one of the country’s most influential citizens after she was remanded for sharing a post rebellious of public policy on Social Media.

Ex- UNIDO Director General Alhaji Dr. Kandeh Yumkella, now opposition politician is also benefiting from the APC’s “Unpolitical Prudence”. When news of his Personal Assistant and Youth Coordinator’s detention break in Bo City, Youth critical of him confessed that, they now realize that he is a threat in the 2018 elections.

A Petty Trader in Moyamba District upon hearing that the Information Minister Mohamed Bangura accused him of “impersonating” the President to world leaders said “now I believe that APC hates Dr. Yumkella”.

Pondering on Ing Andrew Keili’s thought on KKY’s Political odyssey, it is noticeable that KKY being “hemmed-in from all sides”, has been marketed so much that the recent Police Ban on jogging is deemed as an aim to upset one of his principal campaign strategies.

For this reason it would not be far-fetched for one to prophesy that the ruling party in their “unpolitical prudence” will help KKY to win next year’s election easily.
