Bombali District to receive 150 bags of rice,40 gallons of oil,5 bags of salt 5 cartoons of Magi, and 416 bundles of water. Kambia District to receive 50 bags of rice,30 gallons of oil,5 bags of salt,5 cartoons of Magi, and 416 bundles of water. Bonth Disrict to receive 50 bags of rice,20 gallons of oil,5 bags of salt,5 cartoons of Maggie, and 416 bundles of water. Koinadugu  District to receive 50 bags of rice, and 416 bundles of water. Port Loko District to receive 200 bags of rice,40 gallons of oil,8 bags of salt,8 cartoons of Magi and 416  bundles of water. Tonkolili District to receive 200 bags of rice,40 gallons of oil,10 bags of salt, 10 cartoons of Magi and 416 bundles of water. Bo District to receive 150 bags of rice,40 gallons of oil,5 bags of salt, 5 cartoons of Magi, and 416 bundles of water. Moyamba District to receive 150 bags of rice, 416 bundles of water. Pujehun District to receive 100 bags of rice,30 gallons of oil,5 bags of salt,5 cartoons of Magi, and 416 bundles of water. Western Area  Urban to receive 355 bags of rice,60 gallons of oil,14 bags of salt, and 14 cartoons of Magi. Western Area Rural to receive350 bags of rice, 50 gallons of oil,13 bags of salt, and 13 cartoons of Magi.  He intimated his audience that the items for Western Area Rural and Urban   would be distributed by AWOL and partners.

The chairman of AWOL, Ambassador Anthony Navo Jnr. disclosed to newsmen that AWOL was established in 2001; under the leadership of Mr. Moseray Fadika during the era of the late President Ahmed Tejan Kabbah and since then AWOL has being complementing government effort.

“One of AWOL’s primary objectives is to complement the effort of our Government and to help save the lives of our people,” AWOL Chairman Amb. Anthony Navo Jnr. Said.

He said AWOL sees Ebola as a disease that could either infect or affect people’s livelihood one way or the other and that Ebola doesn’t care whether you’re APC or SLPP, PMDC or UDM, whether you are poor or rich; we are all at risk. Added that AWOL’s color is green, white and blue and the motto is ‘’put Salone First.’’

He stressed that people must all positively respond to the clarion call of our President to help in our individual and collective ways to eradicate this deadly disease from our country.

The Minister of   Local   Government, Mrs. Diana Konomani   Kabbah maintained that   the decision to handover the donations to the Local Councils is a step in the right direction.  She added that   Sierra   Leone operates   with a centralized   system of government   that is structured.

“It is only using this structure that would bring the end to the outbreak of the Ebola Virus Disease in this country” Minister Diana Kabbah said. She concluded by thanking AWOL   for their humanitarian gesture and called on the Local Councils to ensure that the donations reach to the rightful beneficiaries across the country.
