The director of the show, Mamud Jalloh established that together with the AYV Cypher Uncensored team, they faced with numerous challenges during the just concluded season one of the show.
However, he said that they were able to drive through the first season of the show successfully. He further stated that because they sought for the competition to be transparent and free from violence, they invited credible and reputable musicians in the society to serve as judges.
King Fisher and Star Zee Zee, served as judges in the final round of the competition were very much disinterested, transparent and God fearing in their judgment.
Mamud further explained that the season two of the show would be of a different echelon as all the inaccuracies made in the season one would be corrected to ensure that the season two secured international standard.
Announcing the results of the bloodless mic to mic battle, King Fisher began by telling all participants that all of them were winners and that there was no looser. He therefore, congratulated all of them for keeping the faith up to the final stage of the competition.
He categorically stated the various positions of the contesting teams, wherein he said that Team English came 6th, followed by Team Grade A in the 5th position and Team One Heart Nation in the 4th place.
Analyzing the weaknesses of the of the above teams, King Fisher recognized that the three teams would become very good rap teams in the future if they paid special attention to improving their punch lines, stay focused and develop the habit of working as a team.
Fisher continued with the result as he declared that Team Black Nation came third, Team Zombie Gang occupied second position. King Fisher, admonished the two abovementioned teams to work in line with the established instructions of any competition they would contend for in the future, owing to the fact that both of them were extremely good, but they did not work in line with the competition laid down rules, but entertainment instead.
He finally announced Team C.M.B as the best team for the AYV Cypher Uncensored Show Season one and therefore declared the winner of the competition.
In her statement, Sierra Leone’s best female rapper Star Zee Zee who was one of the judges mentioned that AYV Cypher Uncensored show was one of her favorite shows on AYV TV. She encouraged the young rappers to keep the rapping spirit as she had spotted a lot of talents in them. The female hip hop super star thanked the AYV management for coming up with such a nice hip hop show that helped in identifying young rappers. She concluded by encouraging all the aspiring to stay focused as the future holds a lot for them.
The award ceremony took place on the 11 March 2017, at the Board Room of the AYV Media Empire, the event was chaired by the producer of the show; Mohamed Foday Kamara. In his statement, he began by thanking all for their individual contributions toward the success of the show. He furthered that they had sponsorship challenges in running the show, as he adding that Mr. Anthony Navo Jr. Executive Producer of the show and Chairman/CEO of the AYV Media Empire, was the sole sponsor of the show.
He further explained that as the only sponsor of the show, Mr. Anthony Navo Jr had promised to give a cash price Le 3,000,000 to winners of the show and that the money had been given to them as organizers. Mohamed highlighted the following as prices for the winners:
First price was a cash price of Two Million Leones, five songs, and two videos to be fully sponsored and promoted by the AYV Media Empire. Second price was a cash price of One Million Leones, two songs and one video to be fully sponsored by the AYV Media Empire and the four other teams would had a single song for each fully sponsored by the AYV.
He presented the winners to the Executive Producer of the show who also doubled as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the AYV Media Empire, Mr. Anthony Navo Jr.
Giving a statement before formally handing over the prices to the winners, Mr. Anthony Navo Jr. began by telling all that the Cypher Uncensored Show was initiated by him a year ago to help identify young talents in the hip hop world. He furthered that music had a positive role to play in the development of our beloved nation. He stressed that gone were the days when politicians used to dominate the airwaves with lots of lies to our people.
He added that he would guarantee that young people utilized music to educate their peers so as to help transformed their lives positively. He established that he was very much impressed about the comportment in which the various teams conducted themselves throughout season one of the shows.
The CEO confessed that he never thought that the show would have ended as it was. Mr. Navo applauded the numerous participants for the good etiquette exhibited throughout the show.
He further extended his gratitude to the organizers of the show for their consistence; hence, he never thought they would have had the courage to steer the show, amidst the different challenges they were facing. The CEO confirmed that the AYV Cypher Uncensored Show happened to be his best show at AYV.
The award ceremony was climaxed with the presentation of the different prices to the winners by the Chairman/CEO of the AYV Media Empire, Mr. Anthony Navo Junior.
