Hon. Claude Kamanda explained he had undertook and completed several development projects in various communities in his constituency, the rehabilitation of roads, the construction of a Mini Stadium at Newton, schools and fought tirelessly to eradicate the Ebola virus in the country.

 

 He said the commissioning of the centre was a greater achievement for the Lumpa Community in Waterloo and promised to complete the centre within the shortest possible time.

 

Hon. Claude Kamanda thanked all those who contributed in diverse way to make this community project a reality , with special to the contractor , stating that the centre was not for his personal use , but that also for the general use of the people of LUMPA.

 

The Secretary General of the ruling All Peoples Congress  party , Ambassador Osman Yansaneh applauded the effort of Hon. Kamanda for piloting development in his constituency , and he was so impressed and proud of Hon. Claude Kamanda prioritizing community development in Sierra Leone.

 

He informed the audience that Port Loko would soon be the New York of the Northern Province, and that the township would soon have a  Mayor just like Makeni, Bo, Kenema, Freetown, Koidu and Bonthe.

 

 

The Secretary General suggested that the Ward Communities should continue to be proactive and monitor oversight groups, and added that the community centre was built for the use of all groups within the Lumpa community.

 

He said his party is currently constructing a seven storey market structure building in central part of Freetown, and the market infrastructure would accrue funds to form management committees that would oversee its sustainability.                                                                                                                                  

 

Very soon, he said electricity supply would be extended to all communities in the township and the ongoing road projects were stalled by the austerity measure.

 

 He also disclosed the water project being undertaken by the Chinese at Orogu Village along the Freetown Waterloo highway and the Rural Areas.

 

 Present at the ceremony were the Lumpa headman, Hon. Allieu Badara Mansaray, Mr. S. E. K Harding, Chairman WARC, Alhassan Cole, Tribal Authority Chief Pa Alimany Kabba 11, Councilor Abu Bakarr Tamemko Kamara  Ward 342, Women Rep Md. Hamond Scot, Youth Rep Bai Sheka.
