It can be recalled that Drew and team entered Sierra Leone through the Liberia – Sierra Leone borders where they claimed they were corruptly ripped off $150 from three corrupt Sierra Leonean customs health officials.

After ringing a bell on the ugly act, within twenty-four hours, the country’s Anti Corruption Commission was able to track down and arrest the three accused persons and detained them pending investigations.

Appreciating the swift and timely move by the country, Drew on his usual social media blog wrote: “The 3 guys who scammed us $150 at the Sierra Leone border have been arrested and are taken into custody in Freetown. Within 24 hours after I uploaded yesterday’s video explaining how my friend Alvaro and I were scammed of $150 at the border of Sierra Leone for not having a “cholera shot” (which is not the requirement), the Sierra Leone Anti-Corruption Commission reached out to me and said that they identified and arrested these ruthless people. Even better, they are offering us a refund of the money!

Corruption and bribery is a horrible reality in West Africa, and it scares many travelers (myself included) away from the region. What happened today is one HUGE step forward to making these countries safer for everyone to visit. I would like to extend a special thank you to the Sierra Leone government for being so efficient in working together to arrest these guys.

Hope you enjoy prison!!!!”.

Drew Binsky’s praises on the country’s strides to end corruption is coming at a time when His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio has stood strongly on ensuring that the epidemic is totally wiped off the country and further ensure that the people of Sierra Leone benefit from what is theirs.

Drew Binsky, born May 24, 1991, is an American travel blogger and vlogger. Binsky documents his travels on his YouTube channel and other social media accounts. As of October 2019, he has visited 175 countries and plans to visit every country in the world by 2020. He was the Guinness World Record holder for Most UNESCO World Heritage Site.
