Police alleged that the accused person had intent to defraud the complainant; Hassan Saa-Bangura by falsely pretending that the former adviser to Ex- President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, Hon. Alpha Kanu was interested in the sale of the complainant’s Honda Jeep with no registration valued one hundred and thirty million Leones.

Court record indicates that the Honda Jeep was in the custody of one Lillian Bangura at Savage Street, before the accused, Abubakar Kamara approached her on the pretext that the former adviser to Ex-President Koroma, Hon. Alpha Kanu wanted to buy the Honda Jeep in question.

The Africa Young Voices Media Empire further gathered that when the accused person took away the said vehicle, he never contacted neither Lillian Bangura who was the custodian of the vehicle or the complainant, Hassan Saa- Bangura, whom he had assured of returning with the colossal sum of one hundred and thirty million Leones.

In his testimony, the complainant Hassan Saa- Bangura informed the court that after the  accused person had disappeared into thin air, he reported the matter at the Criminal Investigation Department headquarter at Pademba Road in the central part of Freetown.

He added that the accused, Abubakar Kamara was later arrested together with the Honda Jeep in the northern district headquarter town of Makeni, before he was brought down to Freetown and eventually charged to court.

The matter was prosecuted by Inspector Isatu Gbassay Fofanah, while the accused, Abubakar Kamara was defended by Barrister J. M. Jengo.
