Ambassador Brima Acha Kamara said they were aware of some authorities collecting money illegally from road travellers or forcing them to pay their ways across the borders, much against protocols by the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS.

He however stated that the relationship between the two countries was excellent and called on citizens of the two countries not to destroy the well-established relationship

On the issue of the voters’ registration exercise, he said his embassy had engaged authorities in Liberia to allow Sierra Leoneans to be allowed to travel across and register.

He said he was concerned that many Sierra Leoneans living in Liberia had no passports or any form of travelling document, adding that that would make very difficult for them to travel in and out of that country.
