The event which was held at the Atlantic Lumley Beach Hotel on Beach Road in Freetown saw the first lady being respectfully guided on her roles as Co-organiser of the Child Marriage conference scheduled for late October in Senegal.

Speaking at the event, First Lady Sia Nyama Koroma said child marriage is a menace that has been hampering the future of African children.

She said it will only take collaborative effort to mitigate the practice all across the continent.

On his part, Head of Programmes in the Office of the First Lady, Moses Beckley spoke on the importance of the meeting to the forthcoming Senegal conference.

The meeting brought together experts from the continent and authorities from the Sierra Leone Government to deliberate on the presentation of the first lady at the October meeting.
