He cited instances the institution has worked with the past SLPP government headed by the late President Ahmed Tejan Kabbah, while referencing the supporting role of AWOL to the current APC Government of President Ernest Bai Koroma.

Navo said AWOL has been a vehicle to drive developments and will continue to ride on the path of development for national interest.

He recounted that the legacies of one of the founding fathers, Late Moseray Fadika will be protected, while revealing that the long term major plan of the institution is the construction of a recreational center that will be named after Moseray Fadika.

According attendees, Ambassador Navo was regarded as among the few people able to sustain Ambassador Fadika’s legacy and promote the amazing work of AWOL. He is being regarded as a vastly experienced leader who has demonstrated outstanding leadership abilities in manning the affairs of AWOL.

Members of the Organisation said Navo has deep support and his record-breaking leadership abilities and fundraising skills are the qualities AWOL members need for the furtherance of the organisation. During the AGM in Tokeh, he presented the institution’s constitution to the newly elected chairman of Kaduna Thomas Koroma.

Appointing his executive, he indicated that AWOL is a diverse and inclusive organisation, with people from different tribal and political orientation.

AWOL has transformed from a small community-based organisation to what it has become today – being one of the most successful and largest organisations in Sierra Leone and in the diaspora.

The re-elected Global Chairman is expected to lead on the late Ambassador Fadika’s legacy of uniting Sierra Leoneans and rally global support for AWOL’s development programmes across the world, while strengthening the membership of the organisation.

Navo doubles as the CEO of AYV Media Empire. He has been described as a respected and authentic voice of people from all walks of life including the grassroots and his contribution to nation building.

He presented the following people as his executive members: Kweku M. S. Lisk Esq. stays on as deputy godfather and Thomas Koroma- a close ally of Ambassador Fadika was elected Chairman ‘Kaduna’. Minister of Lands, Country Planning and the Environment, Diana Konomanyi was elected Global Chairlady. Secretary General of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists, Ahmed Sahid Nasralla (De Monk) was re-elected Secretary General. A prominent member of the Sierra Leone People’s Party, Jabez Rogers-Wright was elected Public Relations Officer, and Ezekiel Duramani Lakkoh as Assistant Public Relations Officer. The All Peoples Congress Party’s Member of Parliament, Hon. Dr. Michel Sho Sawyer was elected organising Secretary, and popular music promoter, Abubakarr Konteh (Boxx) clinched the position of Global Coordinator. Other members who were elected to high profile positions include: Yabome Lansana (Vice Chairma I), Alhassan Kanu (Vice Chair II), Sahr Ngegba (Chief of Staff to Kaduna), Palo Konteh (5.0 General to Kaduna), Theophillus Sho-Cole (Executive Secretary to Kaduna), Abdul Kabba Kargbo( Financial Secretary), Festus Sowah (Treasurer), Ibrahim Chernor Bah (Assistant Secretary General), Ibironkeh Noah (Assistant Organising Secretary), Malador Sowe (Deputy Global Coordinator), Amara Kuyateh (Chief Whip), Doctor Ibrahim Huballah (Medical Officer), Alpha Jalloh Esq -Wetito (Legal Adviser) and Rex Clay (Head of Projects)

The theme for the AGM was Sustainable Development and Partnership for All and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Samura Kamara was appointed coordinator to implement and succeed in it.
