His Excellency Dr. Feni Kouakou stated that the purpose of his visit was a follow-up on the visit of His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio to his Colleague Head of State President Alassane Ouattara of the Republic of Cote D’Ivoire in May this year where both leaders committed to setting-up the bilateral cooperation to enhance trade and agriculture as a major focus to deepen cooperation. Ambassador Dr. Feni Kouakou, whilst congratulating the Minister for her appointment, extended warm greetings from President Alassane Ouattara and the people of the Republic of Cote D’Ivoire. “My visit, he said, is to further show our commitment to deepen the bilateral cooperation between Sierra Leone and Cote d’Ivoire”. His Excellency Feni Kouakou also emphasised the need to cooperate on issues of common interest, particularly on agriculture.

Welcoming the Cote D’Ivoire Ambassador and entourage to the Ministry, Mrs. Nimatulai Bah-Chang, underscored the significance of the visit of the Cote D’Ivoire envoy to the Republic of Sierra Leone, which is aimed at broadening and deepening the existing bilateral relations between the two countries. She further stated government’s commitment to enhancing the agricultural sector that will add value to the local products and create employment for young people.  ‘His Excellency, Dr. Julius Maada Bio is committed to fostering cooperation and collaboration with the Republic of Cote D’Ivoire at multilateral level within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the African Union, and the Mano River Union, she concluded.

Present was the Acting Director General, Mr. Al-Hassan Kondeh.
