He said concentrating on what he described as “deliberate distraction” from the APC at this time will never help President Bio and his new direction government to meet the mandate of the people given to them.
“I am warning the party in power to know that they have one major option which is the responsibility to this nation running a state as an executive government. They are the governors of the state and they are governing now. The main problem here is, Mr. Ernest Bai Koroma’s position in in-house politics of the APC is becoming a concern to the SLPP which I think the SLPP should not be concerned about. They can take it and address it politically but not to come to the public and address or discuss it because those are not the things the people want to hear buy how they should be fed and things to do to meet their family needs.
The SLPP should know that they are ruling and have more important issues to address urgently, including that of ‘De Grun Dry’ so listening to distractions will not help. Pay attention to the interest of the people, which Mr. Koroma himself is now part of. He was there are president before and he has done his and now you, Bio is there and have a lot to do.
So don’t follow Mr. Koroma’s distraction. Why are you bordered about the APC politics? Leave them!

For the past three decades, Mr. Johnson reported for some reputable media institutions like Reuters News Agency, United Press International (UPI), Spanish News Agency (EFE), Press Trust of India, BBC, CNN and the Independent Newspaper of London.
He entered the media landscape in 1969 and worked as a cub-reporter under the editorship of the late veteran Journalist, Mr. Sam Metzger of Unity and the Nation Newspapers. He also worked at the then Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and served as Senior Information Officer (SIO) in charge of the Northern Region.
Mr. Johnson has undergone several media courses including certificate course in Journalism organised by the Extra Mural Department at FBC under the then Director, Mr. C.R.A. Cole in the 1970s and completed a post graduate course at the Indian Institute of Mass Communications. He also pursued Higher Diploma in Journalism at the Kalmar University in Sweden. Mr. Johnson also participated in various international media seminars in Bosnia, Lebanon, Ghana, Nigeria and the United Kingdom. He also served as Commissioner at the Independent Media Commission.
Mr. Johnson is the founder and first Chairman of the Veteran Journalists Union. Sources close to Mr. Johnson informed this medium that plans are underway for the official presentation ceremony of his retirement award service from Reuters News Agency.
Veteran Journalists Union (VeJU) Sierra Leone, was officially launched by Vice President Victor Bockarie Foh and is made up of journalists who have been in the profession for at least 25 unbroken years or have attained the age of 60. The Union was set up in 2013 not for the purpose of rivalling with any media organisations but to complement, mentor and enhance the work of all existing media institutions in the country.
