The ceremony took place at State House and brought together family members, friends and well-wishers of the former police chief.

Addressing Ambassador Munu, President Koroma said his appointment was in acknowledgment of strides that he made while serving as Inspector General and that he believes that Mr. Munu will help bolster diplomatic and multilateral relationships between Liberia and Sierra Leone as well as create more leverage for Sierra Leone within the Mano River Union (MRU).

Ambassador Francis Alieu Munu in his brief farewell courtesies, thanked President Koroma for the confidence reposed in him, first, when he appointed him as Inspector General of the Sierra Leone Police and now as Ambassador to the Republic of Liberia. He assured the president that he will live up to the expectations of his new assignment and vowed to promote the country’s foreign policy, with special focus on security issues.
