Frankyln Joe Rogers told African Young Voices that that since he cross carpeted to the ruling All People’s Congress, he had received several calls from unknown persons threatening to kill him.

He furthered that before now, he had been attacked severally by thugs believed to be supporters of his then presidential aspirant rival.

According to him, the recent phone calls from unknown people were not in any way unconnected to Rtd Brigadier Julius Maada Bio, and  called on the government to provide him with a special guard,  as his life was under serious death threats.

Giving justification for his decision to quit  the Sierra Leone Peoples Party, Franklyn Rogers began by stating he deserted his former party, because the party had lost focus and it was characterized by violence and the used of improper invectives by insolent and way ward party supporters.

He went on to state that  his former party supporters had no prospect of wining the upcoming general elections, and would never associate himself with such a political organization.

‘The Sierra Leone Peoples Party had long been polluted by Maada Bio and his thugs, and that the party was no longer formidable or convenient for a decent man like me,’ Franklyn Rogers maintained.

He continued that RTD Julius Maada Bio would never win an election in Sierra Leone, and his ambition to lead the Sierra Leone Peoples Party was to deprive the party from of wining the upcoming general elections.

I decided to join the ruling All Peoples Congress Party, he went on because the party had countless development plans and activities for the country, and also very focused and committed.

Franklyn Rogers maintained that the All People’s Congress Party was the only political organization in the annals of Sierra Leone, that had implemented tangible development programmes to the admiration of even the ordinary Sierra Leoneans.

He furthered that recently he travelled with the Vice President Ambassador Victor Bockarie Foh to the provinces, and was very much surprised with a number developmental projects government had undertaken, including the construction of health centres in various parts of the country, and improvement of telecommunications.
