Presenting the cheque on behalf of GTBank staff, the Chairman of the Board of Directors Dr. Emerson Taylor-Lewis applauded the effort of government in providing immediate relief for survivors of last month flood flash and mudslides, adding that they also recognized the awesome contributions of internal partners and all those that have contributed to respite needy Sierra Leoneans whose lives has been traumatized as a result of the catastrophic August 14th landslide.

“we recognize the fact that there is a need for longer term support, which will relief this people in a permanent way and so this is why we are here today to make this presentation in recognition of that and also because of the fact that Guaranty Trust Bank is a bank which is well anchored in Sierra Leone.” Dr. Emerson Taylor-Lewis added.

He furthered that GTbank being a reliable financial institution thought it fit to express their humanitarian feeling in that way. He pointed out that they would purchase items worth twenty million Leones and distributes to survivors in various camps across the country.

Receiving the cheque the Hon. Vice President of Sierra Leone said the name of the bank happened to give guaranty to our very existence in the country, pointing out that their symbol stands out to be predominant in every part of the country.

Victor Bockarie Foh thanked them for tipping from their profit to support when times are hard, adding that although business happened not to be as rosary as it used to be but yet still they supported the nation from their profit.

He assured GTBank that they would ensure all what has been provided get to the right beneficiaries and that he would like to see the press monitor the entire process to ensure transparency and accountability.
