Thousands of residents of Kamakwie in the Karene district danced the streets of the township in honour of the Chairman of the opposition National Grand Coalition (NGC) Party, Honourable Dr. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella, who doubles as Leader of the Party in Parliament.
Yesterday, Sunday 8th December, 2019, the fine honourable paid what he described as a surprise private visit to his ancestral mother land, Kamakwie and Tambaka where he was accompanied by his colleague member of parliament, Honourable Foday Mario Kamara among other distinguished followers.
During the visit, his first stop was a courtesy call on the Local Unit Commander (LUC) for the Kamakwie Police Division, the Paramount Chief of the township, followed by the customary meeting with elders at the Court Barray before retiring to visits to relatives.
Issues relating to togetherness, peace, tranquility and national development were discussed during the MPs’ stay. Read our subsequent editions for more on the visit.
