Administration, the meteorological department and other government and non-government agencies in the art of stopping disasters. According to the Vice Chancellor and Principal of Fourah Bay College – University of Sierra Leone, Professor Lawrence Kamara, he said the training will help the government to curb future disasters especially around coastal communities.

He further explained that the project will span five years and that they are getting support from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and that the survey will focus on coastal communities across the country; tabling the hazards and risks involved especially during the Rainy Season.

One of the participants Sarah Kpaka expressed the importance of the training and how it will impact her institution especially in tackling issues of disaster management. She maintained that she has learnt a lot from the training and that she is now confident to face the issues of disaster management in the field.

According to the Vice Chancellor of the University of Sierra Leone Prof. Foday Sahr ,the UNDP believes in the capability and output of IMBO, adding that this institution is an extension of FBC that has been eminent and providing quality information on climate over the years.
