In a letter to Mr. Khoryama by the African Consulting Group for the Award the organizers noted: “We have the pleasure to inform you that we have selected you to be this year’s recipient of the ‘Outstanding Public Leadership ‘Award (2019 ACG National Leadership Awards). The National Leadership Awards aim to raise the profile of dedicated individuals and committed organizations and highlight the contributions they are making towards developing a fairer, sustainable, peaceful and prosperous future for all Sierra Leoneans.”

The letter further noted that the National Leadership Awards engages those men and women at the centre stage and recognize excellence, commitment and innovation among individuals and organizations and enhance their contribution to sustainable development across the country. ”The work of the Awards is anchored in the belief that leadership recognition and empowerment of individuals and organizations that are playing tremendous role in society is very essential to moving the country forward.  It is vital to ensure that outstanding individuals and organizations are empowered to recognize their potential as resources. Therefore, the goal of the awards initiative is to recognize and nurture their ability to contribute to national development and peaceful co-existence, best practices and outstanding achievements, and as such, we respectfully require that you attend to receive this recognition.”

The IMC Chairman was among several other outstanding personalities in the Sierra Leonean society drawn from various institutions in both public and private sectors.

Earlier in the year Mr. Khoryama was in similar fashion recognized by the Sierra Ovation Awards/Sierra Ovation Magazine as one of the 100 Most Outstanding Sierra Leoneans at the 2019 Sierra Ovation Awards that was presented by the Sierra Ovation Media Ltd. at the same venue.

In a brief acceptance speech, Mr. Khoryama dedicated the Awards to the Almighty God and through Him to His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio, the Commissioners and staff of the IMC and to his wife and family.
