Dr. Marah’s mission in the district according to his media team was to take the messages of hope to the people of Kono district. Reports say the fine politician used the opportunity to also assure the people of Kono of “No hope lost” and that the APC is very much committed to the socio-economic development of the district.

He addressed thousands of supporters, admirers and fans at the Konomanyi Park in Koidu city who had earlier welcomed and processed with him from Koaqoima.

It can be recalled that early this year, similar number of people turned out to jog on his behalf in Koidu city. The Kono event saw people of all shades thronged the main route from Koaquima to Upgun through Main Kainkordu Road to the main motor park.

When Dr. Marah ascended the podium, there was a thunderous uproar of “Our New Hope. We trust you. We love.” The young men and women also shouted in separate sounds in Krio, “Na u we want.”

During the procession, Dr. Marah was forced to stand from his vehicle top to wave lustrously to the spirited and enthusiastic crowd clad in varied ‘Ashobis’ and t-shirts carrying the APC party logo and the “New Hope” inscription.

Dr. Marah’s latest visit to Kono is said to have witnessed the recovery of the APC spirit in the district following the visits to the district by opposition politicians Julius Maada Bio and Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray of the SLPP and the ADP respectively.
