This, for many locals and non-locals, has best described one of the Sierra Leone’s very young and novice politician still wallowing in opposition, Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray, Chairman and Leader of the Alliance Democratic Party (ADP).

This presumably fine uprising politician has of recent times being spotted parading from one political district of Sierra Leone to the other, dancing like a Sampa in the name of contesting bye-elections.

He was spotted “Sampering” at Makeni where he contested against an old but well experienced political tycoon, Ibrahim Ben Kargbo for a seat in a parliamentary bye-election for Constituency 030.

As if the ADP was without serious or sober-minded members to come up as candidates for the party in that part of the country for the bye-election, Kamarainba (selfishly?) catapulted himself all the way from Goderich, Freetown in Constituency 93, where he is registered to vote and be voted for, and presented (himself?) as the ADP candidate for the bye-election in Constituency 030 where he has no voting right.

But what the voters taught him in that election will serve him well as a very better lesson he will hardly forget in a rush.

As if he failed to comprehend from the better lesson the wise voters at Constituency 030 taught him months back, Kamarainba has resurfaced himself in Constituency … as ADP candidate for the parliamentary bye-election therein. Wonders will never end indeed!!

What is more confusing and very much hard to comprehend in this entire Kamarainba show is the fact that this same political Sampa has an ongoing elections petition matter before the Supreme court of Sierra Leone, which he filed against Hon. Ibrahim Ben Kargbo on the latter’s victory in the Constituency 030 bye-election.

It is clear that should Kamarainba win that Supreme Court case against Hon. Ben Kargbo, he will be automatically endorsed Member of Parliament for Constituency 030 and Hon. Ben Kargbo will be ripped off the seat, if the said election is not recalled by NEC.

In a situation where the Supreme Court judgment favored Kamarainba and at the same time the National Electoral Commission (NEC) pronounce him winner of Constituency … bye-election, which Constituency would he serve as MP? (A million dollars question).

Hope he is not going to tell us he wants to serve as Member of Parliament representing two constituencies? What an expensive joke(r) it (he) will be!!

The earlier Kamarainba stop being selfish and power thirst (as alleged by many of his party loyalists, members and supporters) and give equal opportunity (as the ADP motto states: “Opportunity to all; Responsibility from all) to other members of the party to contest in some of these elections, the better for him.

The fear among loyalists, members and supporters of the ADP as you read this piece now is for their national chairman and leader Kamarainba not to selfishly resolve again to run as candidate for forthcoming local council bye-elections or worst of it, community headmen/local chieftaincy elections, (a dream soon to come to pass).

Author’s advice: “Kamarainba, stop acting like a political Sampa and give opportunity to well qualified and highly respected ADP members to contest parliamentary elections while you concentrate on building yourself up to become a presidential material, (if it will ever happen).

I rest my fingers.
