On SLFA & Sports Ministry

The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association, Isha Johansen, and Minister of Sports, Paul Kamara, are responsible for the problems in Sierra Leone Football.

They are responsible for all of this mess we find ourselves; since they came nothing has gone well with football, it’s just fight for self-interests.

The football trouble is endless and it’s affecting us the players and other people who want to support the game. The government and SLFA should take responsibility for the disgrace our football is in right now.

I had the chance to play in England when we were at 50 in the FIFA ranking, but now we have dropped down the table and this is affecting all of us.

We will continue to decline in FIFA rankings if we don’t fix SLFA for the good of the game.

On Isha Johansen

Isha is full with passion for football. She has extensive international connections; and she has done a great job with FC Johansen. However, I don’t think she’s a good administrator at SLFA.

Isha has a vision and can do great for football out of SLFA.

Football in our country will only get better when those charged with the responsibility of running the game change their style of administration. They should be ready to sacrifice at all times, not just the players.

On his suspension from Leone Stars

Nothing has changed for the better since I suspended my participation from Leone Stars. So I have no regrets. The players are making sacrifices, but the authorities are not doing their own part. We would spend days travelling, sleeping at airports to go play for our country when nothing is properly arranged.

Every year we make these sacrifices and we are always promised some changes, but nothing is happening.

Until there are positive changes in football administration, I will not reverse my decision. I am staying away and I will speak without any fear of being suspended, I will speak for my colleagues (and football loving Sierra Leoneans) who are suffering in silence.

On his career in the Major League Soccer

I am enjoying every bit of it and I am looking forward to do more. However, my doors are not close to other opportunities.

I am enjoying it here and looking forward to play more games. I want to continue playing here with my family but if other opportunities come I will look at them.

I learnt a lot during my spell in the English League with Norwich City and Middleborough. It’s helping my game and my professional development.

Football icons

My football icon will always be Mohamed Kallon.

Between Messi & Ronaldo

It gotta be Christiano Ronaldo.

Football club

I am big fan of Chelsea. In fact I named my pet dog Chelsea.
