Dr. Teambo also express his gratitude to Mr. Shen Xiaokai concerning the contribution China has made over the years in areas like human resource development, capacity building, infrastructural development, and bilateral trade and investment. He indicated that his Ministry will continue to work very closely with the Chinese Embassy in Sierra Leone for the mutual benefit of the citizens of this country and China.
Mr. Stephen James Foyah, one of the participant from the Ministry said he was very grateful for the opportunity to visit China and that this was his first time of traveling out of Africa. He said the seminar was refreshing and an eye opener for him, as he saw firsthand the level of commitment and dedication of the Chinese people to the work; this explains why China has rapidly developed since their reform and opening up policy started, he stated. “My approach to my work has improved since my return from China”, he concluded.
Mr. Shen Xiaokai, the Economic and Commercial Counsellor in responding said China is committed to providing more training opportunities to Sierra Leoneans in 2018. The focus will be on four pillars: Agriculture, Education, Public Health, and Trade, with each of these pillars training one hundred Sierra Leoneans.
Finally, the Economic Counsellor disclosed that China will host the first China International Import Expo from November 5 to 10, 2018 in Shanghai. This import expo will attract buyers from around the globe, as a result he will encourage the Sierra Leone business community to participate in an effort to market the country and tap into the business opportunity out there.
He concluded by thanking the Minister and his entourage for visiting his office and affirms his willingness to work further with the Ministry of Labour and Social Security and other Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to strengthen the bilateral ties between China and Sierra Leone.
