At the meeting, Bio thanked the entire JMB Women’s Wing particularly his wife being the founder for their continued support to the party and his Presidential candidacy. He said participants should use the event as a starting point to victory comes March 7th. He said that winning the elections lie mainly in the hands of the representatives from the various parts of the country because they are living directly with the people and must ensure that the message reaches down to the last man in the last village. He said this can only be achieved when the party works as a family. He said as a peace student, he knows disagreements are inevitable in politics simply because there will always be clash in differences and conflicts of interests, but however said that the ability to surmount those differences is what makes the party unique and standout. He however, stressed the need for unity within the party “With unity, we can achieve everything. The only thing we need now as a party to win the upcoming elections is collective inputs and togetherness. With that, we are assured of victory,” an unfazed Bio avouched.

The Presidential hopeful described the SLPP as the last bastion of hope the people of Sierra Leone have. He said after ten years of misrule by the APC government, the people of Sierra Leone are waiting on the SLPP to once again liberate them from the present absolute quagmire and massive suffering to better conditions of living.

The undefiled former Head of State described himself as the best Presidential candidate who is more prepared and ready to lead this country having the best experience, expertise, knowledge and commitment to this nation than anyone else. He concluded by encouraging everyone to bring their ideas onboard and help the party in securing a resounding victory come March 7th.

Similar statements were delivered by the Vice Presidential hopeful, Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh and the indefatigable SLPP National Campaign Chairman, Dr. Alie Kabba.

Speaking at the event also was founder of the Wing who doubles as the immaculate wife of the Rtd Brigd. Bio, Madam Fatima Bio thanked everyone for honouring her invitation stating that shows how committed and determined the party membership is to ensure victory come March 7. She said that was also an opportunity to say thanks and appreciations to party members for overwhelmingly voting her husband as the Presidential Candidate for the party which she described as a manifestation of the love, trust and confidence people have for her husband. She stated that the occasion was a significant one geared towards mapping strategies for a robust campaign that will bring victory to the SLPP.

She called on everyone to join the campaign process stating that in the SLPP, everyone is important.

National Chairman and Leader, Dr. Prince Alex Harding on his own part, said that he was very excited for such a great initiative by the JMB Women’s Wing. He stated that the focus of everyone now should be on the party’s victory and therefore called on everyone to forget about their individual differences especially those who were unfortunate during the awarding of the party’s symbols. He described the awarding of symbols as a very herculean process especially when it has to do with a lot of people contesting which he said in it show how attractive the party has become to people.

He ended up by encouraging the entire party membership to stay committed to the party while he assured that better days are ahead for everyone.

In another engagement, the Rtd Brigadier Bio past week paid an on the spot visit to various localities within the Lumley community. As he jumped off his vehicle in his fashionable military walking, Bio was mobbed by jubilant voters who were singing blaring supportive songs as well as chanting his name calling him “the savior we have been waiting for”.

The visit, which was embraced with a very charming reception spanned through the Lumley Market, Crab Town and Babadorie before climaxing it at the Grassfield community.

Delivering a succinct message to voters at the Grassfield community playing field, Rtd Brigadier Bio said that he is aware of the sufferings among Sierra Leoneans especially the youth which he said should not be the case. He damned at the government as responsible for the present condition of living within the country and promised that if voted as President, his government will change that narrative “I am well aware of the challenges you face as youth. At times, some of you find it difficult even to make hands meet which is unfortunate and a display of wickedness on the part of government in their inability to create jobs for you people,” he said. He however promised that under his leadership he will create more jobs for the youth so as to improve their conditions of living.

He also mentioned girl child education as another priority area to him. He said he believes that more women’s empowerment will lead to better governance and assured women that his presidency will do all it can to increase their representation in governance.
