Councilor Kanu and the ministers cleaned that Tree Planting community where they told the people that the ‘New Direction’ government will as part of its plans improve on the health of the people through sustainable cleaning of the environment.

According to Kanu the presence of the ministers motivated the people to come out in their numbers to take part in the cleaning of their communities.

He disclosed that a recent survey shows that there is lots of malaria in the communities but that sustainable cleaning is what would reduce malaria and other sicknesses.

“Everybody should clean their community to the best of their ability,” Kanu said and maintained that the ward should benefit from the one billion Leones disbursed by the government to the councils for the cleaning exercise but that the money has not yet reflected in the council’s account.

According to the Minister of Water Resources Dr. Jonathan Tengbeh said they want to get closer to the people in the community as a government to demonstrate that they are ready to accomplish the promises made during campaign.

“We want to give more incentive for people to do the work so that President Bio’s wish for a cleaner environment will come to pass,” Minister Tengbeh said.
