He noted that Section 93 Sub-Section (111) (112) and (116) of the 1991 Constitution mandated Members of Parliament to investigate and enquire about any money received for and on behalf of the people of Sierra Leone to ascertain whether it is utilized for its intended purpose.

Hon. Kombor Kamara encouraged colleagues to ask relevant questions and respond to questions and concerns raised by people within the confinement of the law.

He added that as committee was concerned with a better understanding of several developments as regards road completion, quality of road standard, percentages of job c sites, variations of project costs and other variables.

Hon. Kombor Kamara noted that as MPs, they are also charged with the responsibility to monitor, supervise and evaluate all roads, as well as every infrastructure development to enhance and promote sustainable national development.

The committee inspected all major roads within the Western Urban Area and the Western Rural District, including Wilkinson Road widening project of 5.2 Km, Signal Hill, Jomo Kenyatta Road, Hill Cut Junction, Hillside Bye-Pass Road (Phase 1) and Pademba Road respectively.

 

The Committee will continue its inspection of road sites in the country to complement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and Government’s Agenda for Prosperity.
