Speaking on behalf of the National Elections Response Group the chairman of the group Rev. Alimamy Papso Kargbo said NERG is a group that was created by WANEP for peace to be observed during elections in the Africa sub-region. 

He added that since Sierra Leone is part of WANEP they been monitoring the operations of NEC since the start of this year’s election. 

Rev. Kargbo said that so far they have identified certain gaps one of which is misinformation. He however appreciated the effort of NEC and encouraged NEC to do more to ensure a peaceful, free, fair and credible presidential runoff election on 31st March, 2018.

In another engagement, WANEP through NERG engaged the Sierra Leone Police to tell them about their observations about the role which the Sierra Leone Police have been playing in the electoral process. WANEP encouraged them to do more in other to ensure a peaceful presidential runoff election on 31st March, 2018.
