The residents were trained about  fire, fire triangle, classes of fire, general causes of fire, extinguishing medium, in case of fire what they should do and the effect of fire.

The training which is in three folds will help capacitate these residents to be a fire warden and ambassadors on how they can use fire extinguisher, sand and water to fight the fire disasters in their community.

The workshop climaxed with a practical fire demonstration from the National Fire Force on how the residents should put off fire during it out break

According to Mr. Gbamanja, the training of the residents on fire prevention is part of their cooperate social responsibility on how they should be relevant to the community and country, noting that they made recommendation to EPA to trained residents on fire safety.

“Remember that we are dealing with flammable product and our terminals were our petrol is is directly in the Kissy community” Mr. Gbamanja said; adding that they needed to teach the residents on roles and response peradventure they have fire outbreak in their communities.

Mr. Gbamanja went on to say that the residents have been trained on the practical ways on how they should fight fire in their communities, stating that the residents have been thought what is fire and things they should do when the National Fire Force team arrived during the outbreak of fire.

The trained residents will be serving as warden to sensitized people in the community during the cause of fire outbreak, citing they will be having self reliance on how they should handle and prevent fire.

The training on fire fighting according to Mr. Gbamanja is important because of it drives as most of the residents uses wood, charcoals or smoke will can directly cause fire disaster.

Member of Parliament for Constituency 119 Hon. Wurroh Jalloh in Kissy commended NP Sierra Leone Limited for their initiative to train their residents on fire disaster, adding that the community has a victim of fire disasters on many occasions and with training like this it can help prevent fire in their communities.

In his presentation Safety Officer NP Sierra Leone Amidu Samura said fire generally is cause by three components which are fuel, oxygen and heat, citing that without this there will be no fire disaster.
