Padi Oil Group of Company is the manufacturer of Padi vegetable cooking oil, soap, tomato paste, and cocoa among others. Over the years the company has been giving support to the inmates.

Mr. Hemnani disclosed that sugar, rice, cooking oil and provisions are among the things provided for the inmates, citing that the company has been collaborating with the Asmaa James Foundation to do the donation.

He added that the donation is in support to the Christmas celebration to encourage the inmates, adding that Christmas celebration is all about caring, sharing loving and giving.

The company according to Mr. Hemnani is locally manufacturing vegetable cooking oil which is from a crude palm oil and it’s been refined in the country, adding that the remains are been made into soap, margarine, biscuit and other items that come out of it.

Meanwhile, Mr. Hemnani encouraged farmers to embark on farming so that the companies can buy from them and refine what they produce into cooking oil and soap which he said can create job employment for the farmers and bring financial stability for the country. He disclosed that the company is planning to start exporting goods which will bring more forex for the country.

Aside from the Padi Oil Group of Company other non-government organizations, Civil Society organizations and Women groups have also been supporting the inmates in different ways. Asmaa James is the Founder of Asmaa James Foundation. She thanked the donors and encouraged the beneficiaries to make good use of the items. 

She added that Media Research Centre also help the inmates with toiletries as a Christmas gift. “As you eat the Padi product make sure they befriend your fellow inmates and the donors” she added.

Some of the inmates commend Asmaa James Foundation and the donors for the items, citing that they are hoping for a freedom despite the provisions.

They added that they having receiving supports from different organization for the uniqueness of this is the provisions and the Padi brand.
