The Clerk of Sierra Leone Parliament Hon. Umar Paran Tarawally announced in the Well of Parliament on Thursday 10th January, 2019 that come 1st February 2019, Parliament will begin to hold sittings at the Bank of Sierra Leone Complex in Kingtom.

Hon. Tarawally stated that the relocation of parliament is to make way for the expansion of the Well of Parliament and other refurbishments at the parliament building.

He also disclosed that parliament has received seven 40 feet containers of furniture from the Chinese Government to furnish the House of Representatives.

He added however that parliamentary offices will remain open in the parliament buildings at OAU Drive, Tower Hill. He said parliament will resume sittings in the original parliament building after completion of the extension of the Well and other repairs by April this year to meet with the State Opening of Parliament in May.
