Officers of the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) force yesterday directed a brutal attack on staff of the Africa Young Voices (AYV) Media Empire who were covering a students’ protest.

Adeyemi Jackson and our cameraman were not only prevented by the police from filming acts of brutality by the police but they were physically pushed.

However, attempts by the officers to brutally manhandle our reporters and confiscate their working tools were prevented by the sacked Minister of Social Welfare Moijueh Kaikai and others at the scene.

The management of AYV has condemned the attack on its reporters and vowed to ensure justice prevails.
