The honourable’s aim is to help promote his boss’s flagship program in the Constituency as according to him, education is the key to success and should be accessible to all.

Addressing his audience from Upper Banter, Low Banter and Mano Dasse among other communities at the event, Hon. Edward George said: “Education is the key to success and the most important and viable asset of any nation is its human resource which forms the bedrock of every developing nation.”

He went on to inform the people that the flagship program did not cover non-government assisted schools but that because he shares the same vision with his boss, President Bio to build human resource capacity in Sierra Leone, he decided to sacrifice his whole month salary to complement government’s effort towards education by providing learning materials to schools that did not fall within the flagship program.

The fine honourable used the forum as an opportunity to thank his people for the trust they bestowed in him to represent them in the House of Parliament. He said though he will not be able to meet fully the expectations of the people but he believe with the help of God and more blessings he will continue to deliver to the best of his ability across his constituency as he is determined to keep to his words and also serve his people well.

The distribution of teaching and learning materials was done with words of encouragement to pupils admonishing them to take their school work with all seriousness and also use the little materials they have received judiciously.

Hon. Edward George thanked teachers for the endless support they have been giving to the children even in difficult times and also promised to extend his support to teachers in the Constituency as God continues to bless him. He pleaded with them to take their work seriously and also ensure that the president’s flagship program becomes a success in that part of the country.

It can be recalled that some few months ago also, Hon. George sacrificed his salary to sponsor men and women in his constituency to go visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform the just concluded Hajj pilgrimage.
