A husband and wife who had lived at Adesanyah Street in Brookfield but moved to Wellington a few weeks ahead of the March 7, 2018 general election, (names withheld for confidential reasons) explained to this reporter that they suffered traveling from Wellington to Freetown to cast their vote in the March 7, 2018 general election, despite the fact that the government announced that SLRTC buses would be made available to convey voters from one point to the other.

The couple maintained that had it not been for the effort of the SLRTC, they would have been stranded and unable to leave their Wellington residence in the far east of Freetown; to travel all the way down to Brookfield in the near west of Freetown just to cast their vote.

In a snap interview with the SLRTC General Manager Bockarie Lewis-Kamara, he maintained that without the support of the government and the general citizenry, the work of the SLRTC would be limited.

He used the opportunity to advise the general public to always be using SLRTC buses and facilities as if the buses and facilities belong to them as ordinary citizens.
