The Alliance Democratic Party (ADP) is threatening to stage an anti-appointment protest against a presidential nominee, while sections of the civil society and political groupings are planning demonstrations in favor of the presidential nominees.

Amid this tension, the House f Parliament is yet to commence the interview process on these presidential nominees, and has recorded two unprecedented postponements of the interviews with forty eight hours.

The first postponement was based on grounds that the majority leader was out of the country and could not make it for the slated interviews as a result of flight cancellation. And the second postponement came following the announcement that a parliamentarian was dead. This time round, the interviews were postponed until further notice.

Tension continue to rise with further concerns that certain ministries are left vacant with no substantive ministers since the previous officials were sacked last Sunday.

However, it is not a new thing under the current dispensation for ministerial positions to be left vacant for certain periods of time.
