A mother of a three year old son, Theresa Wilson disclosed to AYV that the free health care has been effective, efficient and so far salvaging the lives of innumerable children, she stated that prior to the free health care, pregnant women were losing their inalienable right to life during the process of giving birth.

“With the aid of the free health care, maternity death rate has reduced considerably” she noted.

 She further commented that the drugs they have been receiving at the various government hospitals have been recouping the befitting health status of the country’s children.

On the contrary, she appealed to the government to expand the free health care support, in order for children in rural communities to also benefit from the national free health care package.

Kadiatu Conteh, a teenage mother stated that the free health care is essential especially to her as single mother and appealed to the government for a sustainable and quality free health care delivery service for pregnant women and lactating mother.

She lamented on the tragic past of how children and mothers were dying during previous years, as a result of extreme poverty, but now with the free health care the death rate among children has reduced drastically.

Laurence Lewis, a father of four years daughter described the free health care project as a redeemer, he said before he used to give his wife a lot of money for their child medication.

The free health care is really a blessing to this nation, he paused.
