Ms. Carlton-Hanciles called on the Traditional Healers not to allow themselves to be used to intimidate voters because it is offence to do so. ‘A lot of people just hold this notion that you are hired by politicians to kill their opponents and they believe it,’ she said. ‘Some people accused you of intimidating them with a spell or even back luck should they support a particular political party or vote for a certain candidate.’

Ms. Carlton-Hanciles said to bring pressure to bear on voters to influence their votes is an electoral offence. She advised the Traditional Healers to be less visible in this electioneering period so that their motives are not misconstrued.
