The first match was between Ladies from the Wes versus Ladies from the East. At the end of the match it was a 2-nil win for Ladies from the West. In the men’s category, Men from the East had a 4 – 1 victory against Men from the West.
Darlton Sesay is the President for Sierra Leone Twins and Multiple Births Association in the country. He informed AYV Sports that the objective of the match was to celebrate the day and to create awareness about twins in Sierra Leone and to bridge the gap between twins all over the country.
He added that this will be a sustainable activity and used the opportunity to call on government, local and international organizations for support. He said they plan on catering for the less privileged twins in different communities who cannot afford their basic needs.
The current members of the executive for the Sierra Leone Twins and Multiple Births confirmed to this medium that they will do a float parade on 13th July, 2019, despite the fact that the actual day falls on 3rd July. He called on everybody to come on board to make the day a successful day.
