The fate of countless students that have met their financial obligations to the university is currently dangling, as ASA promised not to return to the lecture room owing to the failure of the University Administration and the government to meet their demands.

Behold the statement of Academic Staff Association, Njala University “At an Emergency meeting held on the 18th August, 2017 at Bo Campus, Kowama location, the Academic Staff Association (ASA) revoked the suspension of its strike that took effect on 25th March, 2017. ASA has taken this action because of failure on the part of NU Administration and the Government to address our demands five months after we suspended the strike following an appeal by the NU Court. ASA will resume industrial action on Wednesday 23rd August, 2017 at 7:00 A.M. after the national mourning period. Lecturers will not teach, conduct examinations, mark examinations scripts, submit grades and engage in administrative functions until all of our demands are met.”
