She emphasized that women should take leadership positions so as to make positive difference in society and work together for the betterment of Sierra Leone.

She also encouraged women to change their perception of themselves not being educated and not to be ashamed of stepping forward but to be bold and give support to other women and promote women’s participation in decision making processes.

Henrietta M. Bangura, Field Officer for Women’s Forum for Human Rights and Democracy also made a statement saying that it has taken quite some time the political world has just seen men in politics and that there is need for women to be seen in politics now and that is the reason why they are asking for 40% involvement in the country’s politics.

Some of the women who participated in the rally spoke more on why they think it is important for women to be involved in the country’s politics’
