Star Zee explained that they were allegedly attacked by a group of people claiming to be Melian Tours bus workers. The incident took place around the Murray Town vicinity in Freetown where over 15 thugs allegedly damaged their car window and beat up her colleagues Black Mystiq and Daddy G aka Technique.

ystiq, who reportedly sustained serious injuries, as a result, is presently admitted at the Choithram’s Hospital in Freetown where he is responding to treatment. Star Zee confirmed she and her Manager Alfred Bazz Collier were also injured during the unprovoked attack.

Reports say the senseless riot broke out when the two vehicles were jammed in traffic which resulted to some passengers and workers from Melian Tours vehicle spitting on Black Mystiq and his entourage. Black Mystiq reacted by splashing water inside the Melian Tours vehicle.

At this point, some workers of Melian Tours vehicle came down from their vehicle to cause damage on the car carrying the artists, which resulted to the breaking of the car’s windscreen and the side mirror.

Shortly after the Sierra Leone Promoters Union SLPU issued a press release stating that it wishes Star Zee and the DOZ Family quick recovery and also called on the relevant authorities to take immediate and appropriate action to probe and punish the perpetrators.

“We stand in solidarity with other segments of the industry, artists DJ’s, promoters and ask for our peers to begin to demand corrective action – be it vandalisation of festival and tournament billboards and/or acts of physical violence etc,” the SLPU release added

Star Zee, real name Linda Samai is the daughter of the former vocalist in the Military Dance Band Patrick Samai. Her mother is Mrs. Sombo Samai, a nurse. Star Zee was born and raised in Freetown. She was first exposed to the music industry at the age of 14 when she joined the Stress Inc. Records.

As we go to press, the matter is being investigated by the Congo Cross Police Station in Freetown.
