As part of the efforts in curbing illicit use of substance among the youth, the Parliamentary Committee on Youth Affairs during an oversight functions in Bo, handed over 20 packages of Kush to the Sierra Leone Police at Shelmingo Car Wash Center.

During the oversight, it was observed that there is lack of effective communication and monitoring from the ministry of youths affairs regarding the operations and activities of the various car wash centers.

Whilst the establishment of the car wash facility is to reduce youth unemployment by His Excellence President Julius Maada Bio, it was observed that the car wash facility is being used by senior officials at the ministry of youths and national youth commission as stores and shops for their private businesses.
