It was an amazing match as the neighbouring teams clashed in the previous season finale, as Mountain City emerged victorious in that match, a situation that titled them as the out gone defending champion.  

The match started with anticipation on both teams, as the rivalry between the clubs was vividly revealed at the game. It was a dual tension; the players in the pitch as well as the spectators of both teams want their teams to secure the ticket to the grand finale, slated on Sunday 21 May 2017, at the Siaka Steven Stadium.

The two teams are considered to be arch-rival. Actually, the match did not produced the anticipated commencement as it was expected  by the fans, owing to the fact that both teams   were playing with the country’s most talented home-base players at the moment. Fans were expecting entertainment as well as business football that were normally displayed by rivalry European clubs such as the Manchester/Arsenal derby or the el clasico between Real Madrid and Barcelona.  

Both teams were confident in contemplating in their previous three encounters that resulted into a draw and a win for both teams.

First half started with high tempo as both teams made awkward touches, having host of the country’s finest footballers in one pitch ,  the fans were sure of the fact that despite their anticipations was put in a limbo, with more flexibility in the midfield, they were assured of entertaining football.

City Boys started exhibiting their talent in the midfield, as they  mounted pressure on their opponent  the Fullah guys, the City Boys were on top of their game as they were exhibiting that they are really from a city, wherein their opponent are coming from a small town. However, their entire militant attacked backed with lots of strategy failed to put them in front of the match.

Prince Barry surging runs down the left wing was not enough to give his side Mountain City a first half lead.

Nathaniel Tungor Fullah alias Anderson was just isolated figure in the middle of the centre square, while Terry Orlogor had classic distributions of the ball for the Fullah side, but first half ended goalless.

The citadel of the second half started when Fullah Town midfielder Nathaniel Tungor Fullah fired a carpet shot out of the 18 yard box, in the 55 minutes of play to put his side ahead in the game.  His thunderous shot placed goalkeeper Unisa Koroma effort useless, a he conceded goals in the match.

Mountain City Coach, Amidu Freaky instantly reacted by injecting George Matta who replaced Simon Kanu. George Matta introduction was timely, as he completely changed the game in favour of his side, another correct decision made by Coach Freaky was the introduction of Musa Kamara, who stop at nothing  to ensure that City got an equalizer.

It was a two all draw, but eventually the Fullah Guys thrashes the City Boys in a penalty shootout as Goal Keeper Fish Ball led them to the grand finale against the first-timer team Abacha Traders.
