Aware of the responsibility of running a powerful independent multi-media entity like ours, the AYV staff and management remain committed to researching and publishing objective and credible stories for the consumption of our cherished readers across the world.

We equally don’t take for granted the trust bestowed on us by the people and we will endeavor to remain the voice of the voiceless and Sierra Leone’s most forthright media.

With the aforementioned in mind, we take in good faith the hue and cry on the social media over our latest television edition of AYV ON SUNDAY show featuring the All People’s Congress (APC) Presidential Nominee Samura Kamara. Concerns are being raised over our chosen panel for that program and we have officially explained the circumstances that led to the decision to have two APC politicians on the panel of six as opposed to other programs in the flagbearers’ series. (The press release is published in this edition)

This outburst of the local populace can only serve to strengthen our resolve to serve the people of Sierra Leone professionally; as it has reminded us of the challenging responsibility we have as the hope of Sierra Leone.

We can only hope that the criticisms remain constructive. One thing we can assure the people of Sierra Leone is that AYV will not become pro-APC or pro-anything overnight. We present professional news and programs always. Bringing you live coverage of events as an when they happen is our signature. Of late, we covered the mudslide live; four days in a row, we covered the opposition SLPP convention live; we were there at the NGC convention just as we did for the APC; we covered all the angles during the Ebola outbreak. How can we change all of that overnight? We understand that Sierra Leone is currently in a politically charged moment, but such should not force us to direct an unjust attack on us after all the sacrifices.

AYV will always remain Sierra Leone’s most credible media institution.
