It could be recalled that AYV has in the recent past bagged awards as the best and most professional media house in the country – BBC Award. As recently as in June 2016, AYV again received another award from China for excellence and professionalism.

The Dr. Suma is therefore expected to make a presentation at a conference of media practitioners in China on media excellence and professionalism in an African context. The Chines government is keen to strengthen the already existing professional relationship with AYV as this will help contribute to AYV achieving its goal to become a Centre of excellence for professional digital journalism in Sierra Leone. The AYV General Manager will be in China for one week under the auspices of the Chines government before he proceeds to Europe on further engagements.
