She said even though Mr. Ansumana Usman Koroma is working with the Australian Government, his dream is to see the transformation of his country, and therefore he has been sleepless to lobby development partners to come and support his President (Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma). She added that Sierra Leoneans should be proud of Mr. Koroma and pray his dream is translated into a visible reality.

According to Dr. Fleming, her Foundation is established in more than 15 Countries, adding that Sierra Leone is going to be among the list of those countries that will be benefiting from the support provided by the Ducere Foundation. She stated that she intend, before leaving for Australia, to visit three primary schools in the West, Central and East end of Freetown to be experimented for her survey across the country.

She said, “Mr. Minister, we wished to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with your Ministry and I hope when the substantive Minister-Dr. Minkhailu Bah, comes you will present a copy to him to concretize this relationship. We look forward to this.”

Perusing the draft copy of the MOU, the Acting Minister of Education said this is a golden opportunity they will utilize for the intended purpose. Minister Kamara promised his Ministry’s support and assured that he will carefully relay the message to the Minister (Dr. Bah) who travelled overseas for another important function.

He thanked and appreciated Dr. Fleming’s visit, adding that her visit to support the development of primary education is very key and fundamental.

Meanwhile, Dr. Fleming visited the Services Primary School today which was established in 1943 to initially provide primary education for children of military personnel.

The head Mistress of the School Mrs. Khadijatu Y. Fofana said they were lucky to be chosen among the numerous schools in the country, adding that the advancement and achievement of quality education lies in the development and capacitation of primary schools for the children.

Mr. Mohamed Sultan Daffae-National Coordinator Ansumaik Network in Sierra Leone said Mr. Ansumana Usman Koroma has been working to attract development partners so they will come and invest in the Agriculture Sector, Energy and Power, Education, Information and Communication among others.

According to him, they are not at the school premise by coincidence as education for all is the motive of Mr. Koroma.
