He congratulated the management of AYV for ensuring professionalism in the media landscape in this part of the world.

The Chinese Ambassador encouraged the media empire to continue to promote the thriving relationship between the Government of Sierra Leone and the People’s Republic of China.

The media, he said, has a crucial role to play in the forthcoming elections, while urging the AYV to take the lead in ensuring social stability at all times.

He expressed the Embassy’s willingness to partner with AYV to ensure that the potential of young people towards economic development is fully enhanced.

Responding, the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the AYV Media Empire, Ambassador Anthony Navo (Jnr) expressed appreciation over the positive sentiments expressed by the Chinese Ambassador.

He said the media empire started from a humble beginning in 2011 with just a newspaper.

“Today, the AYV has grown into a full blown media empire with a mission to empower young people through the power of media,” he disclosed.

The AYV President spoke of the massive extension work ongoing on the AYV Radio and Television transmissions, noting that the empire is now broadcasting from the north and south of the country in addition to the western area and international broadcasts.

He informed the Ambassador that AYV is serving as the hub for university students and graduates to expose them to practical modern broadcasting.

President Navo assured the ambassador that the AYV Media Empire will continue to independently and objectively serve the young people in particular and the general interest of Sierra Leone.
