The chairperson for Persons with Disability- at Pademba road, Ishmeal Komba Gborie disclosed that residents at Sorrie Town community off pademba road and other communities like Sumaila Town were in the habit of deposing garbage indiscriminately at their residences including their immediate environment.

“We are humans, let people don’t treat us like we are not part of the global community, because we are physically challenged,’’ Gborie stated.

He continued that they are living with their children and the indiscriminate dumping of solid waste within their environment continued to pose serious threat to their environment and existence, adding that most of the dumping sites had become breeding grounds for mosquitoes, diseases like cholera and other life threatening illnesses.

 They grumbled that due to uncontrolled manner of disposing garbage closed to their dwelling structures and market, they had lost many customers, as their customers were always grumbling and afraid to transact businesses with them, as a result of piles of human waste being deposited by unknown residents at Sorrie town and Sumaila town within their locality.

Residents dwelling at the surrounding communities complained that the garbage disposal is serious threat to their lives, as this happened to be the raining season, and the stench and the heat from the garbage have been restricting their customers, a situation that led to the profound depreciation of their business.

As a result of this, the numerous residents made a general plea to the appropriate authorities to salvage the despicable situation.
