The state further alleged that the three accused persons murdered Patrick Bangura alias Junior at his 7K Upper Tengbeh Town residence in the West part of Freetown, back in March 2016 and then dumped his remains in latrine pit at the above-mentioned residence.

Responding to question posed by Barrister Ishmael Philip Mammie, Cecelia Bockarie stated that she is a police officer and charged with the responsibility to safeguard life and property of citizens of Sierra Leone.

She informed the court that prior to the mysterious disappearance of her husband Patrick Bangura alias Junior, the second accused, Shollay Val- Renner  had attacked her husband with cutlasses at the same residence in the presence of his fiancé’ Demoh Bangura.

According to her, after that incident her husband went missing on 28 March 2016, until his remains were found in a cesspit on 11th April 2026, after which she reported the matter at the Family Support Unit, Congo Cross Police Station.

She further explained that her late husband, Patrick Bangura alias Junior was never diagnosed with HIV at the 34 Military Hospital at Wilberforce and at the Satellite Hospital, along King Haman Road, where the deceased was taken for medical examination and treatment.

The witness went on to say that after her husband’s remains were found in a cesspit, the younger sister of the deceased was the first person to report the matter to the police.

At this stage of the cross-examination, counsel Ishmael Philip Mammie representing Demoh Bangura, requested for an adjournment in order to enable him digest the file relating to the testimony of the deceased’ wife, Cecilia Bockarie and he assured the court to proceed with the matter in the interest of justice and fair play.

He also promised to file an application to the court for a locus, so that the court and jurors or reasonable men of the world would visit the scene of crime at No. 7K Upper Tengbeh Town in Freetown.

The presiding judge, Hon. Justice John Bosco Allieu later ordered that Demoh Bangura and her fiancé’ Shollay Val- Renner be kept at the Male and Female Correctional Centres at Pademba Road and Jomo Kenyatta Road respectively; and allowed the bail of the third accused person, David Sesay to continue.

The matter comes up again on Monday 11th February 2019.

In another development, Mohamed Lamin Kamara and Paul Corn were also docked before Hon. Justice John Bosco Allieu presiding over the High Court of Sierra Leone for allegedly committing capital offence.

They are alleged to have murdered Hannah Bockarie at Aberdeen Beach and stuffed her private part with sand.

But when the matter came up on Monday 4th February this year before Hon. Justice John Bosco Allieu, the jurors were incomplete, thus restraining the court from proceeding with the trial of the two accused persons.

He ordered that both accused persons be kept at the Male Correctional Centre at Pademba Road in Freetown and adjourned the matter to Monday 11th February this year.
