The two absent jurors were empanelled during the 2019 Criminal Session of the High Court of Sierra Leone to assist adjudicating judges determine a murder charge brought against Mohamed Lamin Kamara alias Coke N Gee and Paul Con for the alleged murder of Hannah Bockarie.
The State claimed that both accused persons murdered Hannah Bockarie on 21st August 2015; stuffed her mouth with sand and deposited her remains on the Lumley Beach in the Western part of Freetown.
Both accused persons are charged with offence of Conspiracy and Murder contrary to law.
When the matter was mentioned for hearing, the two jurors were absent, with the exception of one of the jurors, who according to the Foreman is seriously ill.
The conspicuous absence of the two jurors restrained the court from proceeding with the matter, and the presiding judge was left with no option but to issue a Bench Warrant for them.
The State was represented by lawyer Kabba Conteh, whilst the accused persons were defended by barrister, Ishmael Philip Mammie. The matter was adjourned to Monday 11th November 2019.
